Infrastructure & Facilities

The college currently balances academic theory and clinical practice across its integrated campus within the 250-Bedded General Hospital premises.

• Academic Building: A modern, six-story facility spanning over 13,711 sq.m. This building houses the Pre-clinical and Para-clinical departments, featuring well-equipped lecture galleries, laboratories, and a central library.
• Clinical Training: Clinical disciplines are situated within the hospital building, providing students with immediate, hands-on exposure to diverse patient cases and emergency medical services.
• Student Life: We provide dedicated, separate hostel facilities for male and female students, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for focused study.

Departmental Structure

The college is organized into three primary phases of medical education:

1. Pre-clinical: Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry.
2. Para-clinical: Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, and Pharmacology.
3. Clinical: Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, and specialized sub-sectors.

Future Vision: The Permanent Campus

As a priority project under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, we are actively progressing toward the completion of our permanent campus. This expansion will significantly enhance our research capabilities, residential capacity, and specialized healthcare delivery for the people of the Jamalpur district and beyond.

Jamalpur Medical College is a government medical college in Bangladesh. Started in the year 2014 and first batch of students were admitted in same year. Former inauguration took place on 10 th January 2015 by Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The college was setup with a view to offer advanced medical services to population of Jamalpur and its territory. The institution is affiliated with University of Dhaka and recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). The college is situated in the district of Jamalpur.

The college is currently functioning in a temporary campus within premises of 250 Bedded General Hospital, Jamalpur. We have separate building for academic activities and separate hostels for male and female students. Procedure to build permanent campus is going on. Development of the institute is to continue as a project run by project director supervised by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Directorate General of Health Services. The facilities in the institution are being enriched day by day.

A six storied College building was built with 13711.78 sq.m. of floor area.
